LEVY & GILCHRIST COUNTY PUBLIC HOUSING WAITING LIST OPENING FOR LOCAL APPLICANTS

The North Central Florida Regional Housing Authority (NCFRHA) will open the Public Housing Waiting List for Levy and Gilchrist Counties.

Opening Date: October 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM

Closing Date: October 29, 2026, at 4:00 PM

This waiting list opening is limited to applicants who qualify for a Local Preference within Levy or Gilchrist at the time the pre-application is submitted.

LOCAL PREFERENCE

Applicants must qualify for the Local Preference by living in, working in, or having been hired to work in Levy or Gilchrist County.

Local Preference eligibility will be verified at the time the pre-application is submitted. Applicants must provide documentation supporting their Local Preference, which may include:

• Current rental agreements listing the applicant's name and address;
• Current pay stubs with the physical business address of the employer or residential address of the applicant and the applicant's name;
• A current, official job offer with the applicant's name and work location;
• A driver's license or identification card displaying the applicant's current residential address;
• Current bills or statements for telephone, bank loans, internet, insurance, or utility services showing the applicant's name and address;
• Records or official report cards from a local school district confirming student attendance; or
• Documentation from a social service agency or local shelter verifying homelessness and current placement in a shelter within the local jurisdiction.

HOW TO APPLY

Families may obtain a pre-application beginning October 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM:

• From the PHA's website at www.ncfrha.com;
• In person at the PHA main office during lobby hours, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-11:00 AM and 1:00 PM-4:00 PM; or
• By requesting an application by telephone, mail, or email. Upon request, the PHA will send the application by first-class mail.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

Completed pre-applications may be submitted from October 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM through October 29, 2026 at 4:00 PM by:

The PHA is closed on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Pre-applications must be completed in their entirety, including all required documentation verifying Local Preference, to be accepted for processing. The PHA will make one attempt to notify the family if information is missing before denying the pre-application. The applicant will be responsible for providing the requested information within the required timeframe.

WAITING LIST PLACEMENT

Pending verification of Local Preference, the date and time the completed pre-application is received by the PHA will be used to determine the applicant's placement on the waiting list. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Submission of a pre-application does not guarantee placement on the waiting list or eligibility for housing assistance.

All applicants must meet additional applicable program eligibility requirements at the time they are selected from the waiting list.
